Collection: The Art of Dr Seuss Collection

‘Dr Seuss’ is the pseudonym name created by editorial cartoonist Theodor Seuss Geisel. Theodor began his career as a little-known editorial cartoonist in the 1920s, his artwork became the platform from which he delivered forty-four children’s books, more than 400 World War II political cartoons, hundreds of advertisements, and countless editorials filled with wonderfully inventive animals, characters, and humour.

His intriguing perspective and fresh concepts ignited his career, and his work evolved quickly to deft illustrations, modelled sculpture, and sophisticated oil paintings of elaborate imagination.

The Art of Dr Seuss offers a rare glimpse into the artistic life of this celebrated American icon and chronicles almost seven decades of work including Illustrations from the 44 children's books, Unorthodox Taxidermy and the Secret Art collection.

The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss is an inimitable collection of artworks created at night for his own personal enjoyment. These works were rarely, if ever, exhibited during his lifetime and provide a deeper glimpse into the art and life of this celebrated American Icon.
