Ngoia Pollard Napaltjarri | Swamps near Nyrripi A15257

Size: 120 x 120cm
acrylic on linen

Ngoia paints her father’s country, which is a sacred Warlpiri territory. The oval shapes in her paintings are an iconographic representation of the swamps and lakes near Nyrripi (Talarada) north west of Mount Liebig, approx 200kms west of Alice Springs. The fine detailed dots represent the water drying up and the cracks in the ground forming.
