Known for his dark, psychological narratives Stewart MacFarlane's survey exhibition 'The Real World' is showing at Broken Hill Art Gallery until 23rd February.
The exhibition explores the artists practice over 4 decades. Some of the more recent works for this show have been drawn from MacFarlane’s extensive visits to Broken Hill and the Far West of NSW.
MacFarlane he has held more than sixty solo exhibitions, studied and lived in the US as well as Australia and has shown in Europe and Asia.
He has exhibited extensively in Australia, Europe and the United States. His work is held by collections including The National Gallery of Australia, Canberra; the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne; the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth; Artbank, Sydney; regional and university collections and internationally in the United States.
The exhibition is being held at the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery, 404-408 Argent Street, Broken Hill until 23rd February.
