Mitchell Fine Art presents ‘Monochrome’ an exhibition exploring the enduring theme of black and white.
Black and white adds a timeless fine art appeal to an artwork. Painting in black and white focuses an artist to concentrate on the elements of composition and form. The use of a Monochrome theme in a home or office interior can create a timeless and elegant look.
Showing from 8th March this exhibition showcases artworks from a range of Contemporary and Aboriginal artists who utilize the classic black and white tonal effect.
Coinciding with the exhibition is a panel discussion with industry experts to be held in the gallery on Thursday 9th March from 6 – 8pm. This is a free event.
Brisbane Interior Designer Claire Stevens will share her styling recommendations for artwork within the home with furniture displayed from Globe West.
Architect Carolyn McLean will discuss how interior design is so integral with architecture and is most successful when the two interact and flow effortlessly.

Mitchell Fine Art is located at 86 Arthur St, Fortitude Valley with onsite parking available. The exhibition is showing from Wednesday 8th March until Saturday 1st April.
Artworks on display include commanding artworks from established Aboriginal artists such as Lily Kelly Napangardi and Abie Loy Kemarre through to a selection of more accessible smaller works.
The gallery is open Monday to Friday 10am - 5.30pm and Saturday 10am – 5pm. Art enthusiasts can also follow/like the gallery on Facebook and Instagram.
