Join George Gittoes and Hellen Rose for an in conversation event at QAGOMA this Friday 30 September from 6.30pm and then for an Artist Talk at Mitchell Fine Art on Saturday 1st October from 11am.
Australian artist, writer and filmmaker George Gittoes and producer and singer Hellen Rose have filmed in some of the world’s fiercest war zones.
Their activities are a call to the artistic communities of the world to unite and use their communication skills to help end the senselessness and barbarity of war.
George Gittoes is a Sydney Peace Prize winner, recipient of the Bassel Shehadeh Award for Social Justice, honorary member of the Australian Peacekeeper and Peacemaker Veterans' Association and was recently awarded Best Director for 'No Bad Guys' at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival 2022.

George Gittoes recent paintings from Ukraine will be showing in the Australian Collection galleries of Queensland Art Gallery (QAG) from 30th September 2022.
Recent artworks from Ukraine will be showing at Mitchell Fine Art in Fortitude Valley from 29th Sept until Saturday 8th October. All works are available for purchase.
