Amanda Penrose Hart 2019 Clayton Utz Art Award Congratulations to Amanda Penrose Hart on winning the 2019 Clayton Utz Art Award in Brisbane with her painting 'The Purple Van'.

 Born in Brisbane Amanda Penrose Hart holds a Diploma of Fine Art from Queensland College of Art and a Bachelor of Visual Art from Griffith University.

 Working from landscape, travelling informs most of Amanda Penrose Hart’s paintings. Whether en plein air or recalling the memory of a certain place, Penrose Hart captures these experiences through her impasto application of paint as much as the imagery portrayed.

 Amanda Penrose Hart 2019 Clayton Utz Art Award Clayton Utz proudly supports the Arts through the Clayton Utz Art Award. The Award offers a $20,000 winner's prize and exhibition space for the finalists and is awarded to an outstanding artwork by a Queensland-based artist, or an artist with a strong connection to Queensland.

This years prize saw 300 works submitted and 42 finalists selected. The winner was judged by Professor Ross Woodrow from Griffith Uni’s Queensland College of Art.

The exhibition is showing at Clayton Utz, Level 28 Riparian Plaza, 71 Eagle St Brisbane until october 2020
