2018 Redland Art Prize Finalist - David Hayes

Congratulations to David Hayes on his selection as a finalist in the 2018 Redland Art Prize. 

David Hayes artist  The Redland Art Award is a biennial contemporary painting competition open to all Australian artists. Now celebrating its 31st year the competition features four prizes,totalling over $20,000.

David Hayes is a Brisbane based artist who works in acrylic and resin. His work is rooted in pop culture stylistically but explores the changing themes of masculinity via metaphors and juxtapositions of theme, color and work titles.

David has been a finalist in numerous art prizes including the Black Swan Art Prize (WA), the Blake Art Prize (Sydney), Mosman Art Prize (Sydney) and the Gallipoli Art Prize (Sydney).

 The winner will be announced on Friday 31 August at the Redland Art Gallery in Cleveland, Brisbane.

All shortlisted works will be on display from 2nd September - 14th October 2018. The exhibition openign will be held on Friday 31st August.
