“Since 1982, sometime after arriving back from a three year scholarship in Europe, my outlook has been to extend the Australian Landscape Tradition. I am seeking in some way, to come to terms with, to re-invent and create symbolic images, metaphors for a unique land, outside the 'European Enclosed Garden'.

Also to evoke the essence of the landscape, accept it's realness, yet, capture it's otherness, it's 'something elseness' - to encounter, not just to observe.”
