'Landmarks' | Jeff Makin
‘Landmarks’, an exhibition by one of Australia’s greatest living landscape painters Jeff Makin is currently on display at the Sofitel Brisbane Central in Turbot St, Brisbane.
‘Landmarks’ is the first exhibition in Brisbane in over 22 years for Jeff Makin. The exhibition is comprised mainly of works that have been inspired by a number of painting trips to Queensland and Northern New South Wales over the past 12 months.
Hailed as one of Australia’s greatest living landscape artists, Jeff Makin is best known for his en plein air paintings that follows in the tradition of the Australian Colonial painters.
Makin has exhibited both Nationally and Internationally from the early 1960’s. He is represented in all National, State and most Regional collections.
Makin is a current finalist in the 2016 Percival Portrait Painting Prize and the 2016 Tattersall's Art Prize. He was also the winner of the Gold Coast Art Prize in 1971 and the Brisbane Tattersalls Art Prize in 1992 and has been a finalist in the Tattersalls prize from 2008 – 2011.
