Ann Thomson

Brisbane born but now Sydney based artist Ann Thomson is known for her expressive and energetic paintings. Thomson’s artworks represent visual memories of places and things with vibrant colours and movement.

Painting for over 60 years, Thomson has won a number of prizes, including the 1998 Wynne Prize, 2005 Kedumba Drawing Prize and the 2002 Geelong Contemporary Art Prize. Thomson has exhibited over 40 solo shows and her work is included in many important collections such as Art Gallery of New South Wales, Newcastle Regional Art Gallery, Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection, Madrid and Villa Haiss Museum, Germany. 

In 2017 Ann was the winner of the Tattersall's Art Prize in Brisbane.
