'Ngapa' Water Dreaming

This exhibition showcases a selection of Aboriginal artworks reflecting the story of 'Ngapa' or Water Dreaming an important dreaming for Aboriginal people.

Living in the desert water is vital for both humans and animals. Water was not only required for drinking purposes but also to encourage growth of plants and native food.

During times of drought ceremonies were undertaken to encourage rainfall. 

The passing of this dreaming from one generation the next was vital to ensure survial during traditional times.
